TCCR's Spring Conference 2010 was entitled "Interparental Conflict - the Damage to Children." The conference focused on different perspectives and models of intervention in work with parents, couples, families and groups. Aleksandra Novakovic from here at TCCR presented her work on Co-Parenting Groups: Working With Inter-Parental Conflict In A Shorter Term Parent Group. Profs David Scharff and Jill Savege Scharff from the USA who have a long association with TCCR presented their work on Parental Distress: When Couples with Young Children Experience Strain in Their Relationship. Video Example and Theoretical Discussion. Finally, Bernadette Wren presented her work on Couples in Conflict, Children In Need: Working with the Parental Couple in the Context of Child Protection.
All three speakers presented different ways of working with inter-parental conflict which were both stimulating and thought provoking. This was reflected in the lively discussions which took place throughout the day. The conference was well attended by 60 delegates most of whom had come because of their interest and work with inter-parental conflict and the adverse impact of this on children's lives.
